Lesson Summary: By the end of this lesson, one should understand the meaning of the greatest integer which simply refers to finding the greatest number that is less than or equal to the given number. Furthermore, one should be familiar with the parent function of the greatest integer function which is f = int(x) as well as what the different transformations mean in relation to finding the greatest integer. In addition, one should understand the different components which make up a piecewise function (pieces of functions) and be able to graph them and find the domian and range. ne should be aware of the intricacies of piecewise functions like when to use an open and closed circle and when a function is continuous and when it has endpoints.
